Celebrity Big Brother 2: Why did Anthony Scaramucci leave?

Going into tonight’s Celebrity Big Brother 2 episode, we knew that Anthony Scaramucci was leaving the house. With that being said, there was still one important question to think about: Why did he leave the game? Did he quit, or was he punished for some sort of rule violation?

Entering tonight, the rumor mill suggested that Mooch was never an actual player this season — we know that he had an engagement in Switzerland this past week, as well. Our feeling was that he was never actually meant to be a full player, and just a way in which to cause a little bit of craziness.

Over the course of the first ten minutes, we started to get a little information on that subject courtesy of Breaking Celebrity News — these are headlines that apparently will run its course over the course of the season. It turned out that rumors were true, and that The Mooch left the game without even telling anyone about it. He was never a real houseguest, and instead, he was involved in the first twist. He allowed everyone to have a “second chance” and to rewrite their own history. That meant that someone else had to be nominated for evicted. (Kandi Burruss ended up being nominated in Mooch’s place.)

As for whether or not we actually like this twist, it’s really ridiculous. The real, transparent reason for his presence and this twist overall just seems to be that they wanted the White House headlines — they knew that they couldn’t keep him forever so they just took advantage of him as long as they could.

Do we think that The Mooch came across more likable over the course of the season? We’re not sure he has any more fans, though at least he did seem to get along with people more in the game that he did over the course of his run in Washington. We do also think that this is a model that Celebrity Big Brother could choose to employ again as we start to move further along into future seasons, mostly due to the fact that they may want a celebrity but only may have them available for a reasonably short period of time.
