NCIS season 16 spoilers: More on Robert Wagner return

According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, you are going to be seeing the actor back on the show this time for a case that is actually connected to Jimmy Palmer. Given that Wagner plays Tony DiNozzo’s father, it is fair to raise a few questions as to why he would be back when Tony is no longer on the show right? Well, it turns out that Jimmy’s father-in-law is tied to a murder case, and Senior actually has a relationship with the guy. The two play poker together (something that many of us in the Carter family love to do as well)! This is something that Jimmy didn’t know about, and that could lead to some fun moments in the episode depending on how they are played.
What’s fun about this episode, at least from our vantage point, is that we’re getting a spotlight on multiple characters at the same time. Even if you’re not seeing Tony Jr. on the show, his father offers up a chance for at least some sort of personal update (we can hope, right?). Meanwhile, we’re always down for a story that gives us an update on Jimmy Palmer — he’s one of the longest-tenured cast members on the show these days, and Jimmy is personally one of our favorites to watch. We’ve come to know a good bit about him, but even still there are a few surprises that we still uncover here and there – surprises even he doesn’t know about!
NCIS has been on a short hiatus as of late, and that hiatus will continue for at least another week. Regardless of the plans for the State of the Union, CBS is still not airing a new episode until early February. When it does come back, it will be with a new episode entitled “She” that could be very important to the Ellie Bishop character. Meanwhile, following that on February 12 you’ll see a story that caters more to McGee’s past. Its title is “Once Upon a Tim,” and if you haven’t heard all that much when it comes to news on it, you can do that by heading over to the link here. Senior’s return to the show will be coming at some point after that.
