The CW is getting fully immersed into pilot season today — after all, they’ve now granted pilots to several notable projects!

Below, check out some of the first official details on some shows that are going to have a chance to get at least a short episode order at the network — these series join Batwoman, which has already been ordered separately to pilot by the network.

Jane the Novella (spin-off to Jane the Virgin) – “A telenovela anthology series in the tradition of Jane the Virgin in which each season is based on a different fictional novel “written by” Jane Villanueva and narrated by the author. The first installment takes place at a Napa Valley Vineyard, where family secrets (and family members) don’t stay buried for long.”

The Lost Boys (a new version of the classic) – “Welcome to sunny seaside Santa Carla, home to a beautiful boardwalk, all the cotton candy you can eat — and a secret underworld of vampires. After the sudden death of their father, two brothers move to Santa Carla with their mother, who hopes to start anew in the town where she grew up. But the brothers find themselves drawn deeper and deeper into the seductive world of Santa Carla’s eternally beautiful and youthful undead. Based on the 1987 Warner Bros movie.”

Katy Keene – “Riverdale spinoff follows the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene — as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. Musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of the aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio.”

Nancy Drew project (still untitled) – “Set in the summer after her high school graduation, 18-year-old Nancy Drew thought she’d be leaving her hometown for college. But when a family tragedy holds her back another year, she finds herself embroiled in a ghostly murder investigation — and along the way, uncovers secrets that run deeper than she ever imagined.”

What happens next?

These four pilots will film and then, come May, The CW will make their decisions. We think that Katy Keene has the best shot just because the network is probably still trying to make up for not keeping Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The Nancy Drew project is interesting given that there have been so many different attempts to make this into something over the years. This version actually does seem to be pretty good. (Meanwhile, Jane the Novella has some promise, but it’s going to depend heavily on what the individual stories are.)
