Vikings season 5 episode 20 (finale) spoilers: The battle for Kattegat
So who are we the most worried about entering this episode? We know that Ivar lives a good while still in the history books, so we do think that this is a sign that he’s still got some story left to tell one way or another. Yet, we’re certainly worried about Lagertha just because that prophecy has been out there for so long and she’s cheated death a good bit. We’re also equally worried about just about everyone else related to Ivar given that he’s often violent and vengeful … even towards some close to him.
Below, CarterMatt has the official Vikings season 5 episode 20 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming up:
A new battle for Kattegat is on and only the gods know who will emerge victorious.
History doesn’t have to give all that much away for this episode (entitled “Ragnarok”) for you to know that it is significant. This is one of the most epic, violent showdowns that we’ve had a chance to see so far this season. Our feeling is that things are only going to get more intense as things go along on the sixth and final season.
How long of a hiatus are we looking at here?
It’s possible that the show is going to be making us wait for a good while to see more of it on the air — after all, just remember for a moment that History took a super-long break between the first and second half of this season.
No matter when History does bring Vikings back, the one thing that can probably be counted on at this point is that they’re going to make the return of the show as big and as meaningful as humanly possible. Without this show, does History even have a scripted TV slate at all? We’re not so sure.
