A Million Little Things spoilers: Chandler Riggs of The Walking Dead set to appear

A Million Little Things

For the first time since his departure from The Walking DeadChandler Riggs has scored a significant television role. Suffice it to say, this one couldn’t be any more different from playing Carl Grimes (which by the way we are still salty over losing on The Walking Dead).

According to a new report from TVLine, the actor has signed on to ABC’s A Million Little Things in the role of PJ. He is a young man who Romany Malco’s character of Rome comes across. The two have a good bit in common, and because of that their interaction is going to prove to be more important to the two of them than either one of them would ever anticipate.

This role for Riggs will be in the form of a multi-episode arc, which means in turn that we could be seeing Chandler on board the show for at least a little while. Riggs himself first teased the role on Twitter earlier this week, discussing how he was excited to be back at work after being unemployed ever since departing The Walking Dead.

Chandler is certainly joining A Million Little Things at a perfect time, given that the series is in the midst of a rather-nice surge of popularity. The show has long been the subject of good reviews, but it’s being aided by a move over to Thursday nights following Grey’s Anatomy. It will air there for the remainder of the season and if the numbers stay strong enough, it could easily be enough to get the show a second season. For now, we certainly do think that things are charting in that particular direction. It is replacing Station 19 in that timeslot, but that show is going to return a little bit later in the year.

As for when you’re going to see Riggs in action on the series, odds are that it won’t be for at least a couple more episodes at least. Given that he just officially signed on to the show over the past several days, it’s hard to think production would be able to turn these episodes around right now. It’s still something worth being excited about for down the road. We do hope that this gig does do a wonderful job of showing that Riggs is so much more of a performer than anyone gives him credit for — he was routinely one of the best actors on The Walking Dead and gave some Emmy-worthy performances throughout his run when he was given good material.
