A Million Little Things episode 12 preview: The day before Jon’s death

A Million Little Things

Want to know what’s ahead on A Million Little Things episode 12? Well, this episode is looking towards the past than the present. This episode is entitled “The Day Before…,” and we really think that this title mostly speaks for itself. The majority of this installment is going to be set around the moments leading up to Jon’s death, just so that we can get a good sense as to everything that was going on. This is an episode about perception and understanding, and in learning a lot more about this character, we’re going to have a chance to better understand what will happen for some of the survivors moving forward into the future.

Of course, it goes without saying that this is going to be a tough episode in some ways — it’s going to be rather hard to describe this in any other way, all things considered. You know that this character won’t be around beyond this point, and you have to savor almost every moment that you have with him because of that. This is where some of the comparisons to This Is Us inevitably come from.

Below, CarterMatt has the official A Million Little Things episode 12 synopsis with some other information as to what lies ahead:

We go back to the day before Jon’s death, before everything seemed to have fallen apart. Jon is struggling both in his personal and work life, Delilah and Eddie make plans to tell Jon about their secret affair, and Maggie attempts to start her new life in Boston.

So will almost all of this episode be set in the past? That’s definitely something worth wondering going into it but beyond that, we’re okay with it given how many episodes there are in a season as a whole. A Million Little Things is clearly being planned out in order to play the long game. The intention is not to just tell a story that comes to a close after just one single season. Instead, the idea here is to expand upon Jon’s death and showcase more events down the road … provided that the season 2 renewal comes. That comes back to one of the reasons why ABC moved the series in the first place to this timeslot: They want to give it an even better chance at succeeding with big ratings. Personally, we think it would’ve been renewed even in its old timeslot, but why not try to find a way to mix things up if possible?
