‘The Good Wife’ premiere spoilers: Archie Panjabi on Kalinda’s husband

“The Good Wife” is back on TV Sunday night, and with that, there are of course all sorts of questions regarding just what we can expect to see. However, and in a pretty rare move for this series, it is not Alicia that most people are talking about at the moment; instead, just about everyone appears to be infinitely curious when it comes to what is going to transpire with Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and her estranged husband Nick (Marc Warren), who is just arriving onto the scene.

So what does Panjabi herself have to say about this character: Speaking to TV Guide, the actress admits that she was excited for the opportunity here to explore so much more of who Kalinda really is:

“The question that came up in my mind quite a bit, and also in the creators’ minds is: Was she the good wife? … She was married for a certain number of years, which we’ll learn as the episodes progress. But what name did she change? Was she what we perceive to be the good wife? What happened to her in life? Nothing will be spelled out, but you definitely will get a bigger insight into her and her past.”

With Warren’s arrival, we are specifically going to get a chance to see how Kalinda acts around a man who she is completely and totally magnetized to, even if she knows that he is wrong for her in so many ways. The other challenge for this season? Keeping the viewership high. Were it not for its high quality, “The Good Wife” would be in more danger of getting the ax from CBS already, and the network has already had a pretty rough premiere week with their shows losing viewership almost across the board.
