Celebrity Big Brother 2 premiere review: The Celebrity Power Pair, HoH finalists

The Preview Segment! – This is where you learn a few new things about the houseguests! Apparently, Ryan Lochte knows nothing about the show (shocker). Meanwhile, apparently Natalie Eva Marie is a big fan of the show. Kato Kaelin is far too excited about everything, and Lolo Jones’ virginity is probably going to rival Colton Underwood’s on The Bachelor.
Ryan, Lolo, Tamar Braxton, Eva Marie, Tom Green, and KAto were the first people to enter the house. Ricky Williams, Dina Lohan, Jonathan Bennett, Anthony Scaramucci, Joey Lawrence, and Kandi Burruss followed. We love Ricky apparently learning that he is a “healer” now … and we don’t really need to say all that much about The Mooch.
The First Twist – The Celebrity Power Pair was a unique spin on the game, and it had value in the first Head of Household Competition. People had a chance to choose partners, and the two people who weren’t chosen (Kato and Eva Marie) ended up being safe.
The HoH Competition – Tonight, all of these pairs had the difficult task of trying to figure out how to fill up champagne on giant swings. This was so much harder than it looked, since you had to find a way to get a specific pattern going for filling these up. Ryan and Jonathan were clearly the power team — they’re both in good shape and having long arms seemed to matter in this.
Eventually, Lolo and Tom started to actually pick up steam, which is a little bit surprising since we didn’t think that Tom was going to be good at just about anything in terms of the competition. Ryan and Jonathan won … but only one of them can be the first HoH of the season.
The big twist – Ryan and Jonathan are going to have to compete to become the HoH, and the one of them that doesn’t emerge as the champion here is going to go on the block. We feel for Jonathan — let’s just put things that way. We don’t love the twist since it puts someone in a tight spot immediately, but it does at least kick off the game in a big way.
