Celebrity Big Brother 2 spotlight: What Dina Lohan brings to the table

The entire Celebrity Big Brother 2 cast is now official, and with that we’re spending this week previewing what to expect from many of them! Consider this article series your guide to understanding what each person brings to the table and also whether or not they have a legitimate chance of winning. In this piece, the focus is on Dina Lohan, who was one of the first celebrities to be scooped for this season. It’s undeniable that there’s an intrigue around her as a person, but can she actually do well on this show? That’s what remains to be seen.

Claim to Fame – She’s billed as a “momager” in her bio, and that makes sense given that for many years she was known as the person who helped map out the stardom for Lindsay Lohan and, to a certain extent, Ali Lohan. She’s appeared on some reality TV over the years, most notably the Living Lohan reality show that was critically-panned but still generated some discussion.

Strengths – We have no doubt that Dina is someone who could come into the game ready to play. She’s not an actor or an athlete; she doesn’t have the burden of some public persona that she has to keep up for the sake of appearances. She can enter this competition feeling a little bit more liberated to do more or less whatever she wants. We think that she could be underestimated as a strategic player by some people capable of moves.

Weaknesses – Dina’s biggest problem will be just making it out of the first few evictions, where many of the older people on the show tend to be targeted. She’s not going to be a competition threat, we’re not sure she has ever seen the show, and we’re not even altogether sure about her social game. She seems like she could be more than capable of starting a number of heated arguments in the house and could easily rub some people the wrong way. In order to be a momager, you gotta be aggressive and Lohan probably is in all of the best and worst ways.

Outlook This Season – We’re not sure that Dina has a great chance of winning this season, and there’s no reason to think that she will make it to the end. The only thing we’ll give her is this: If she makes it to the end, she’ll probably have played the game on some level to get there and she has a small glimmer of hope. We just don’t think that she’ll make it there based on her casting type and our lack of confidence that she’ll be able to get along with some of these people for a long enough period of time.
