Chicago PD season 6 episode 12 preview: Halstead’s history threatens a case

To kick things off here, CarterMatt has the official Chicago PD season 6 episode 12 synopsis for you below:
01/23/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : While chasing a heroin supplier, CPD crosses paths with a convicted criminal recently released on a technicality. Halstead’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) history with the man threatens the team’s ability to put him back in prison. TV-14 DLV
The exciting thing about this particular story, at least for us, is that we’re going to have a chance to dive into more of what Jay has been through … which we already know to be quite a bit. This is a man who has suffered through PTSD, and so much more that comes with this. We anticipate this being a fascinating episode from both a police and legal standpoint — and we also just want some really good Jesse Lee Soffer scenes in general. The more the show can find ways to bring out new layers to his character the happier we will be. Soffer is an outstanding actor, and he especially shines when he is tackling the darker material.
Now, the question that we’re left to wonder at the moment is simply this: What exactly it is that exists within Halstead’s past here? How can something related to Halstead be so significant that it could keep someone from being behind bars again? That’s definitely something we are the most intrigued by, but no matter what it is, what we know with Jay is simply this: He won’t have to take it on alone. We know that he’s going to have help in just about any endeavor and we’ll have to wait and see precisely how his past becomes involved in his present.
Beyond all of that, we’re also still curious if something more is going to happen in terms of Jay’s relationship with Hailey Upton. While they’ve never been together romantically, at the same time it’s felt like there was at least something there between the two of them — a natural connection, even if it wasn’t so much overtly a romantic one.
