01/23/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : When the firehouse is called to a motorcycle crash, Casey and Severide sense that the details don’t add up and work to determine exactly what transpired. A rift develops between Mouch and Otis. Brett, Foster and Kidd work to secretly fix a dent in the ambulance bumper they believe they unknowingly caused. TV-14 V

The first cause of excitement here for us is getting to see Casey and Severide try to put on their detective caps to determine what actually went wrong at this crash. We do like it when we see some different dimensions from various characters and this is the opportunity to get a little bit more of that. Meanwhile, it’s also interesting to see something happen between Otis and Mouch that’s a little different than the standard comedy stuff the show does. Don’t get us wrong — we do love a lot of the comedy that we get from these two guys on the show (they’re some of the best One Chicago has to offer!). Yet, you have to find a way to balance that out with some different stories too. You want to find a way to mix things up and give us different things to enjoy as a viewer so that no character gets predictable.

Much of the humor for this particular episode could actually come from Brett, Foster, and Kidd as they try to fix the ambulance dent — it’s the idea of the secrecy, more so than the dent itself, that gives this some good comedic potential.
