Supergirl season 4 spoilers: First look at Kate Burton’s character!

Later this season, you are going to have a chance in order to see the former Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal actress in the role of Nia Nal’s adoptive mother, and there is certainly a lot to be excited about with this part. It’s a chance to better understand who Nia Nal is through the lens of where she comes from. We know that her mother is very supportive of her, and that’s a great thing given that there are so many in this world who aren’t. She has also certainly been through a lot and it is especially meaningful to have someone in her life who wants to help.
Nia’s mother, we imagine, could also prove very much valuable when it comes to her newly-uncovered powers. We know that Nia’s dreams are very much essential to this season and the story to come. With that in mind, this is an opportunity to further encourage Nia to better embrace her true destiny. The earlier she can do that, the better it may be for everything Kara and the rest of the DEO team are up against. We know at the moment that Agent Liberty is behind bars and while that’s a great thing, the Children of Liberty are still out there. They still can bring about a lot of pain and destruction on a really large scale.
There are also many other threats that could be coming — think in terms of some people tied to Manchester Black and then beyond just that, Lex Luthor down the road. We don’t know the reasoning for his appearance just yet, but it’s possible Burton’s character could help to better prepare Nia for whatever is going to be coming up then.
In the end, we’re very much excited to see all sorts of interesting drama when it comes to the show — especially since Burton is such a compelling performer who does bring so much to the table in terms of range and capacity to do a number of different things.
