Manifest episode 11 video: The dark lightning story
What is dark lightning? Well, it’s a phenomenon-of-sorts that seems to be different than almost anything that the world has ever seen before. It’s also something that Captain Daly is going to do everything that he can in order to replicate.
In the video below from Monday’s new episode, you can get a reasonably-good sense of what is coming up next as Ben does what he can to keep Daly from going through with his new mission. While it would be nice to get a few answers as to what dark lightning really is, there are some other issues and matters to think about here. Take, for starters, the fact that if Daly’s theory really works, he could be transported forward to the future and won’t be able to help Ben or anyone else in the present. The better course of action to solving the mystery of the flight is getting everyone together and working through it now. After all, strength in numbers is actually going to be what helps the passengers more so than anything else.
What we like about this episode, in theory, is that it is examining one specific part of the larger storyline. We like the idea of the show focusing in on specific theories and possibilities in order to determine their truth; that way, they can ramp up a little more when it comes to specific action when we get closer to the big finale … which is going to actually be closer than you’d think. This is what happens, after all, when the first season makes it to season 16.
As exciting as the idea of dark lightning may be, we really don’t see that the show is going to be unlocking its biggest secrets at this point in the season. We’re not that close to the end of the season and, beyond that, we don’t think that the show is going to be ending with a season 2, either. This is probably going to be a long road before we get any answers and we have to be prepared for that.
