Before we do anything else, let’s start out by discussing the official Outlander season 4 episode 12 synopsis below:
Brianna confronts a violent figure from her past in an attempt to cope with her trauma. Roger befriends a fellow captive and endeavors to escape the Mohawk Village, while Fergus and Marsali plan a dangerous mission to save an old friend from the noose.
The obvious big moment teased in there is Brianna confronting someone who we’d assume is Stephen Bonnet. Given that the character is now locked away, this does present an opportunity for her to go to him and try to handle some of the pain that lies within her heart. Of course, our fear still is that Bonnet may somehow find a way of escaping, just because we’ve come to learn already that this man is a particularly-slimy individual.
As for one of the other main storylines in this episode, we have to think that it’s Fergus and Marsali doing what they can in order to protect Murtagh. He did everything that he could to bring down Stephen Bonnet, really to the point where he was arrested himself. He may be hanged within this episode unless they find a way to stop it — for those of you who’ve been wanting a larger Fergus / Marsali story beyond them just being supporting characters whenever Jamie, Claire, or others are in town, this could be it.
Before we go, isn’t interesting that neither Jamie nor Claire is mentioned here? We do know that the two will appear in some form during the episode, but we certainly think it’s possible that they may not arrive to the Mohawk Village until the finale. Unfortunately for Roger, we’ve got a feeling that his best hope is Jamie and Claire turning up at the village — sure, he may try to escape, but these people know the land exponentially better for him and he’s not a top-tier athlete. There’s only going to be so much that he can do in order to get out of this situation.
