After what Will went through at the hands of Ray and some of his cronies, it’s probably unfair to think that he is going to be able to just recover from that right away and go back to being the same guy. It’s going to take him some time to get back to that place and there will be some bumps in the road. Unfortunately for him, some of those bumps could end up impacting his career.

At the end of the promo below, you see Will getting reassigned, much to his own chagrin, by Goodwin, presumably after something in the hospital goes awry. Natalie calls it out that he is not acting like himself at the moment, but the larger question we’re wondering right now is whether or not Will events knows what it’s like to actually act like himself. His view of the world is probably a little bit different for starters. We’ve already seen that manifested in the form of the gun that he now has in his possession.

What Will probably needs more than anything right now is to not rush into anything and just take his time to ensure that he is feeling more like his old self. Of course, the problem with that is that he is a doctor and there is a certain feeling of invincibility that probably comes from that where you think you can do anything. Also, he knows that he has a high-pressure job and wants to help people. He doesn’t want this to define the rest of his life.

Do we think that Will is going to eventually find his way? Sure, but it’s probably not going to be in this episode. Both personally and professionally, there are some things that needed to be sorted out for him, and some conversations that clearly need to be had. We’re not sure how much time anyone is going to have to immediately help him in this episode, mostly because everyone else is going to have patients and problems of their own.
