Before we say too much else, we should note that the Supergirl casting team is exceptional for getting Kate Burton on the show. She’s a fantastic performer who’s done some great work, especially in Shondaland over the past several years. Getting to see her should also be rather useful in understanding more of who Nia is as a person — someone who is still wrestling with how much to use some of her powers as Dreamer. If she can come to grips with them fully, she could be a valuable asset for Supergirl and the rest of the team.

For some more information on Supergirl season 4 episode 11, check out the synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

KATE BURTON GUEST STARS; NIA AND KARA VISIT NIA’S HOMETOWN — Kara (Melissa Benoist) joins Nia (Nicole Maines) on a trip to Nia’s hometown to visit her family during the town’s annual Harvest Festival. While home, Nia’s mother (guest star Kate Burton) encourages her daughter to embrace her destiny. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) deals with a street drug that is turning people violent and giving them temporary superpowers. Shannon Kohli directed the episode written by Jessica Queller & Dana Horgan (#411). Original airdate 1/27/2019.

It’s pretty clear that Alex is going to have her hands full with this street drug, no? One of the things that we’re excited to be finding out in this episode is where this street drug is coming from. After all, Lena Luthor is the only person we know to be working on something to empower humans! It’s possible that this could be based on some of her research, or maybe there are more people out there working to give humans powers than anyone realizes. There’s a lot that may be going on behind the scenes here and that’s one of many things that this episode could explore.

Do we imagine that there are some serious moments in this episode? Absolutely, but with Supergirl being a lighthearted show, we imagine that there are going to be some moments here and there for fun.
