The news around this air date is a little bit bittersweet. Clearly, the bad news is that Friday’s episode “Common Ground,” the series is heading off the air for a while. However, the positive here is that this may give Tribune Media and Charter Spectrum to work through the carriage dispute that is keeping some viewers around the country from seeing the show. This situation has already lasted admittedly longer than we thought it would; it could be over at any minute, but typically when these situations aren’t resolved quickly we’re concerned that they could start to last for a while.
Anyhow, this episode on February 1 is going to be a fun one — and potentially a relatable one to a lot of viewers out there who have wanted to get some of their family away from technology. While we do think that it has bettered our lives in a lot of ways, there are also some drawbacks — it can make interpersonal communication harder when you are constantly staring at your phone.
Below, CarterMatt has the official Last Man Standing season 7 episode 12 synopsis with some other news regarding what’s ahead:
Mike and Vanessa take the girls to the family cabin, where Mike challenges them to literally unplug for the weekend and stay off their phones. Meanwhile, for a school assignment, Jen shadows Kyle at work in the all-new “Cabin Pressure” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, Feb. 1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LMS-712) (TV-14 L, V)
By the end of this episode, we should get a good sense as to whether or not Mike is actually going to be able to succeed in this quest — we think that he might, but it’s going to be so much harder than he first thought. (We sympathize with some of the daughters here, as someone who would have a really hard time letting go of a phone or a keyboard for longer than twelve hours.)
As for the storyline with Jen, we feel like much of the appeal here is going to be her getting a chance to understand a different aspect of American life. Given that her time in the country may be limited, it makes some sense for her to try to soak as much of it in as humanly possible.
