Gotham season 5 episode 3 preview: The story of ‘Penguin, Our Hero’

Next week on Fox, Gotham season 5 episode 3 is going to bring you a story entitled “Penguin, Our Hero,” which more than likely is going to offer you up a story all about this character trying to stroke his ego and his own sense of power. He’s going to do what he can to get a stronger foothold in the series, while at the same time you’re also going to see Selina Kyle do what she can in order to find Jeremiah. He’s still one of the people at the center of the story, which makes some sense given the fact that he is largely responsible for the current environment of Gotham as a whole.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Gotham season 5 episode 3 synopsis with some more information as to what’s coming up next:

With the creation of Haven as a safe place for refugees, Gordon hopes to stop the gang fighting in Gotham. Meanwhile, Selina is determined to find Jeremiah (guest star Cameron Monaghan) and she convinces Bruce to help her. Then, Penguin goes to Haven to reclaim his staff in the all-new “Penguin, Our Hero” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Jan. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-503) (TV-14 D, L, V)

The problem with a place like Haven is that it’s probably going to create a situation where people are sitting ducks. There’s nothing that villains love more than an opportunity to prey on the innocent if they have a chance to do so, and we’ve got a good feeling that they will flock here if this is where all of the innocent people are. Of course, with the GCPD all over the place here it’s also possible that this could end up being a site of a potential war between cops and villains — if the villains succeed here, there may be no clear line of defense in the city as a whole.

All in all, this episode of Gotham will probably be fun at times, but also immensely chaotic at other points as some of these different factions come to a head and we see people start to make a claim for what they really want. While nobody may want to get used to their present surroundings, they still likely will by the end of the series.
