Let’s start things off here with Neil Forbes, given that he is the person that we mention here first and foremost. This character is played by Billy Boyd of Lord of the Rings fame, and on the show he could be a pivotal player in the Brianna storyline as he quickly takes a liking to her at River Run. In the books, Forbes is a lawyer in the Cross Creek area who is summed to River Run to update Jocasta’s will. As he ends up developing an interest in Bree, that leads to her making a rather-important decision elsewhere involving another important character. We don’t want to guarantee that the series will follow the books directly, but it feels as though there are certain elements of this that are important — it makes some sense, given the era, that Brianna would be a subject of great interest.
As for what’s happening with Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian elsewhere, they are heading off to a location known as Shadow Lake — which may be where the Mohawk tribe that has Roger is headed. It makes sense for them to follow the clearest trail that they have and this is it. They don’t know that Roger has escaped, and is potentially in a spot at the standing stone where he can go back to his own era. It’s a compelling cliffhanger for him, but we don’t think it’s completely in his character to head back at this point when his last memory of Brianna is leaving her back in Wilmington.
What about Bonnet?
Well, we know that Murtagh is going to be tracking him down in the city with the help of Fergus; yet, even if he does find him, what is he going to do? Jamie wants to kill him himself, almost as a way to cleanse his soul for letting him live in the first place. Yet, it feels like that’s going to be a hard task given the fact that Bonnet seems to always have people around. He’s got influence, so if Jamie wants to strike at him, he better hope that the rest of Bonnet’s men don’t find out in the process.
