On Thursday night Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 11 is going to arrive on NBC. With that in mind, why not check out a new sneak peek for what is coming!

If you look below, you can see Benson and Carisi do everything they can to get information from a young woman named Ava (Willa Fitzgerald) about an assault that happened to her. Like many other victims that we’ve seen over the years, it takes a little bit of time for the details to become clear. You’re still reeling in the aftermath of trauma and because of that, it takes some time to start to understand precisely what transpired.

What Benson and Carisi do unearth in this preview is rather shocking, as Ava describes being assaulted by a couple who each do unspeakable things to her. It’s not the typical sort of case that we see on this show, and you can almost see that in the reactions that the two have to hearing about some of this information.

As to where we’re going to see the story go from here, be prepared for two suspects to emerge in a prominent plastic surgeon (played by Royal Pains alum Mark Feuerstein) and his girlfriend. This is the sort of possible criminal who is probably trying to leverage some of his money and power in order to get what he wants — including doing terrible things and silencing his victims. It’s still a little early to tell if the SVU is going to be able to pin him down as the guilty part in court, but if there’s one thing we’ve come to know about this show and these characters over time, it’s simply this: Benson and company have a knack for being able to get the results that they want. It may not always be easy, but we’ve got a lot of faith in them. The challenge this time may just come in the SVU getting enough access and information in order to get the proper case.

Given that Thursday’s episode is the first of the year, and really the first in the past several weeks, we do think that this raises the game to another level in terms of making sure that this is the strongest episode possible. We want drama, a good mystery, and a few surprises sprinkled somewhere along the way.
