Below, CarterMatt has the official Madam Secretary season 3 episode 12 synopsis with some more news on what’s ahead:
“Strategic Ambiguity” – Elizabeth must salvage a deal with a military contractor by supplying fighter jets to Taiwan, but she risks triggering a war with China in the process. Also, Daisy gets frustrated with Matt for failing to help take care of her dog like he promised, on MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Jan. 13 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The obvious main story of this episode is going to be seeing whether or not Elizabeth can avoid a serious conflict with the China — otherwise known as the last thing anyone needs given the fact that these are two super-powers who need to cooperate for the world to be stronger and healthier. We do think that there’s going to be a way to make this happen, though, largely because the last thing that anyone should want here is some sort of large-scale war.
As for the story of Daisy and Matt, we figure that this will be a chance for just some lighthearted fun — and maybe also a reminder that sometimes, you really do need to make sure that you remember that you have a life outside of the State Department. It is an important thing to keep some element of focus on in the midst of the surrounding craziness. We do understand, though, that it’s not always the easiest thing in the world to do.
