Shadowhunters season 3: Freeform releases art for upcoming 12 episodes

Earlier this weekend, we did hype that Freeform was going to be posting an official poster, and they now officially have. You can see that below and on it, you’ve got the vast majority of the show’s important characters in between Clary, Magnus, Alec, and others. We do think that the poster does a good job of at least featuring the characters and putting them in the spotlight; yet, there is not necessarily anything here that’s going to draw in viewers that aren’t familiar with the show already. We wish that there had been a broader concept here or something at least a little bit more innovative — that way, at least the series could get a little more attention for itself. Promo art is a great way to get some attention for yourself because it’s something that potential viewers don’t even have to watch — they can just look at it and make some sort of determination.
So what’s going to be coming next on the other side of this art? From a promotional standpoint, we certainly do hope that there is some sort of full-length trailer coming in the future — the remaining season 3 episodes are only a month and a half away and that would give us an opportunity to drive some more hype and excitement around them. We do think that Freeform should want to promote them — even if they are planning to end the show, why not make money on it when you can? If we do have a fear, though, it is that they may not want to spend more money in order to make money in turn. We cannot say precisely what their marketing plan is a month and a half in advance but we certainly hope that it gets plenty of attention.
Over the course of season 3, expect a lot of action, drama, villains, and romance. This will be the culmination of the entire story to date and we certainly do hope that there are some chances to see happy moments for at least some of the show’s most-notable characters. Despite all of the conflict and danger, we do think that Shadowhunters is a particularly-inspirational show for many people out there.
