Want to know what’s ahead on NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 12? Let’s just say that Gregorio fans will be pleased! We’ve been waiting for a while in order to have a good spotlight episode for this character and, at least on the surface, it feels like this is going to be it. We’re going to have a chance to really dive into an undercover case that is a little different from some of the others we’ve seen this season.

So what is this case? Well, the title for this episode in “Desperate Navy Wives” is a pretty clear clue. This is a pretty-obvious reference to Desperate Housewives, but it does also work as a signal of where this story is going. The NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 12 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below is another:

“Desperate Navy Wives” – While undercover, Gregorio joins a social club for military wives after one of the members is contacted by an ex-boyfriend on the FBI Most Wanted List, on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, Tuesday, Jan. 15 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

There are of course several things to be stoked about with this episode, based at least on some of the information that we’ve got here. At the start of it, though, is just seeing how Gregorio works to fit in with some of these people. That’s something that always excites us from a performance standpoint. If we were an actor on a cop show, we’d almost beg to undercover on a near-constant basis since it would allow for an opportunity to flex some muscles that are a little bit different. It’s almost like you are getting to be on a different show within your own show.

Beyond that, isn’t it nice to just get a supporting-character spotlight? Don’t get us wrong — we’ve loved a lot of the material that Scott Bakula has has to work with this season and it absolutely does feel like the best batch of episodes that we’ve seen from this character since the very beginning. Yet, you do want to maintain that ensemble feel for a show like this and ensure that as many people are involved as humanly possible.
