SWAT season 2 episode 11 video: The calm before the storm

SWAT season 2 episode 11 is not going to be your ordinary episode of the series. After all, over the course of this hour you will see one of the most emotional installments of the series, one that is going to be touching on a very-important part of the team’s past and something that may still haunt them to this day. As they get a new mission that is fairly similar to what they’ve been through in the past, this is going to mark a chance for them to try and do things differently, with a better result.

Be prepared to get emotional during this episode, and also be prepared for some difficult subject matter. The fact that this episode is entitled “School” should tell you some of what you need to know. (The same goes for the fact that there will be a PSA featuring many of the cast members alongside this episode.)

Before a lot of that unfolds, though, the team is going to at least spend a moment or two engaging in some lighthearted banter. That is the focus of the sneak peek below, as you can see Hondo and some of the other guys having a conversation about parenthood — it’s an update on Hondo’s relationship status, but then also a really good reminder of the contrast that exists between where he is in his life and where some other members of the team are. We do think on some level that this is something in Hondo’s head and something that he thinks about — the idea of settling down and having more of a stable future away from work.

Maybe Shemar Moore’s character will get there, but it is pretty clear that this isn’t the focus of this particular sneak peek. Instead, the emphasis here is more just about parenting advice and some banter that leads into the team getting their next case. It’s similar to some of the office conversation that exists on NCIS before Gibbs comes in and tells everyone to grab their gear — the main difference here is that everyone more or less has their gear already and they have to figure out precisely how they’re going to handle some of the danger that is coming up for them around the corner.
