SEAL Team season 2 episode 12 preview: A challenge in ‘Things Not Seen’

SEAL Team season 2 episode 12 carries with it the title of “Things Not Seen,” and you’re going to get a chance to see it on January 9. So what will be unfolding over the course of the hour? Think in terms of something a little bit different than what you’ve had a chance to check out through the series to date.

From the start, one of the objectives of SEAL Team as a series has been tying to deliver some interesting, honest stories about what some of these people would go through — and also that their missions are so much more complicated than many viewers would actually realize. For example, we feel like there are some viewers out there who wouldn’t know that SEAL Teams do missions like what they did with Doza in the first part of the season, and what they are doing next week is a little bit more of a rescue mission than anything else. While terrorism is still involved, it seems to be on the surface about someone who got in over their head after they fell in love with someone who was also a part of ISIS.

Below, CarterMatt has the SEAL Team season 2 episode 12 synopsis with more information as to what’s coming up:

“Things Not Seen” – Bravo Team travels to Turkey to rescue a young American who voluntarily married an ISIS leader, on SEAL TEAM, Wednesday, Jan. 9 (9:01-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The title here, at least to us, feels like a reference to what the greater part of this story could about. The young woman who made this decision to marry the ISIS leader must have allowed the love that was here to blind her to the other obvious problems with the relationship. It was one thing for her to fall in love with someone without seeing the day-to-day operation; it’s something different altogether to see the horrors of what this person could do in action. Should she have probably known, given all of the news that is clearly out there about ISIS? Probably so, and this is going to be quite a lesson for her in finding out the truth. It’s also going to be a test for Jason and the Bravo team given that ISIS effectively has this young woman for ransom and they can choose to go down a dangerous road with her at almost any time if they choose to do so. It’s their way to hold some leverage over the Team and find a way to get ahead.
