Chicago PD season 6 episode 11 to dive into the world of campaign finance

Chicago PD has long ventured into some pretty dangerous worlds — yet, there’s something about campaign finance that could still surprise them. On season 6 episode 11 (airing on January 16), Voight and the rest of the team will be tasked with taking on a murder case in the middle of this particular world. As you would imagine, that’s a pretty difficult world to immerse yourself into for a number of different reasons.

The main issue entering season 6 episode 11 for Voight and the team is simply what they’ve been a part of already this season. Voight has found himself effectively manipulated like never before by Brennan and her team, mostly because he’s found that this is the only way for him to escape from what is a pretty tremendous legal bind. We do continue to hope that there is another path forward for him, but there are no guarantees and we imagine that he and other characters are very much cognizant of that.

01/16/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : When a defense attorney is murdered after a fundraiser, Intelligence must confront the world of campaign finance, which makes them reconsider their decision to back the current pro-police mayoral candidate.

If this episode is the one where Intelligence ends up getting some distance from the political world, what happens to Voight then? He’s been forced to lean into a lot of this because of what happened at the end of last season. Is the success of his job going to be so much that he will be able to keep going? There are so many fascinating questions that come with this, and a lot of it seems to stem from the fact that he’s constantly been the cat with nine lives with this show. Even when it’s felt like he somehow wouldn’t be able to find his way out of a bind, he’s figured out a banner in which to do just that. It’s amazing in a lot of ways, but also a key part of his story.

Of course, beyond just what’s happening with Voight it is absolutely worth noting that Chicago PD is going for one of the timeliest episodes in some time. After all, campaign finance is the sort of thing you often hear about in the news…
