Supergirl season 4 in 2019: What we want for Melissa Benoist, cast

As we get closer to the second half of Supergirl season 4 airing in the new year, what do we want to see for some of the characters? That’s what this particular article is all about! Maybe you can consider these New Year’s resolutions; if nothing else, they are at least some individual hopes for most of National City’s most-notable names.

Kara Danvers – We want to see what she looks like as a bit more of an independent hero. We know that she’s no longer in the employ of the DEO, but we have a really-hard time imagining that she’s suddenly going to put down the mantel of superhero and stop helping people.

Alex Danvers – What is she up to outside of work? It feels like there’s a lot of personal stuff to explore with Alex at this point, mostly because there hasn’t been all that much so far in season 4. She had some big stuff in season 3, in between everything with Maggie and then also helping J’onn and his father.

J’onn J’onzz – Speaking of our favorite Martian Manhunter, we think that this would be a great opportunity to further cement what he’s doing now — and also have him reflect more on what happened to Manchester Black. He put a lot of trust in that guy, and this betrayal still has to be shocking.

Brainiac – Continue to build on his relationship with Nia Nal. There’s something so fun about the two of them together; also, it allows Brainy to showcase his humanity in a way that we wouldn’t get a chance to see otherwise.

Nia Nal – Now that we know about the power of her dreams, don’t we just need to explore that further? It feels like one of the ways in which to ratchet up the drama of the show.

Lena Luthor – We already know that Lex Luthor will be appearing this season, and to go along with this the easy assumption is that he and Lena will be spending some time together. We welcome this, but at the same time we do want it to make some sense for the Lena character that she would seek him out. Find a compelling reason for it.

James Olsen – Finally, we want to see a little bit of more of James as the actual boss so that we can see him take on more of the real responsibilities of running a media company. It’s amazing how little the show actually gives us of this.
