What we’ve done in this article is rather simple: Taken a look at a number of the main characters and started off some speculation as to what should be coming up for them. Rest assured, there are no spoilers ahead — only some fun discussion!
Steve McGarrett – We’re hoping that Steve, first and foremost, gets justice for Joe after what happened at the end of this past episode. Meanwhile, we’re also hoping to see him find some sort of other interest beyond the job. We saw him focus on the restaurant for more than a year, so what’s going to end up replacing that?
Danny Williams – It feels like a good time to focus on Danny’s personal life, mostly because there’s been so much ambiguity on it for a while. Can we actually see the romantic side of the character again?
Tani Rey – We’ve really enjoyed the development of the relationship between her and her brother, and that’s something that could be emphasized further — especially since her brother brings with him some powerful stories about overcoming addiction.
Junior Reigns – While we do want to see more stories where he and Tani get closer, we really just want to see more buildup with his family life because there’s been so much build-up with it, even with the character of his father off-screen.
Adam Noshimuri – We saw how Adam was doing following his split from Kono earlier on this season, but we don’t just want that shoved away in a closet somewhere. Why not check up on him emotionally on a few more occasions moving forward?
Lou Grover – Now that Grover’s brother seems to have a spot of employment over at what is now Kamekona’s restaurant, why not dive more into that relationship. We don’t exactly expect the two to have a perfectly-rosy relationship just in the aftermath of what happened at Thanksgiving.
Jerry Ortega – We continue to like Jerry being almost a counterpoint to almost every other Hawaii Five-0 character — he’s got different friends and a very-difficult background. Any chance to explore that, and also potentially see him undercover, we’re going to be happy.
Noelani, Duke, and Kamekona – These three don’t tend to get a lot of really-meaty individual stories, but we’d like for them to at least have one each in the second half of the season. They are all important to the Five-0 Ohana, so why not show them some love?
