Through everything that has been going on for Pride, though, one thing is clear: He’s going to have revenge on his mind when the CBS series returns with new episodes in the new year. At the end of the fall finale, the character lost his father Cassius following an extended life-or-death crisis. A mysterious voice tried to get Pride to do its bidding in the midst of a hostage situation and as much as Pride tried to go along with it, it didn’t really matter that much in the end. We still saw the death of Cassius and moving forward, this guy is going to pull out all of the stops in order to ensure that the truth is officially revealed.

But how long should the writers continue to nurture this particular story? There’s a case to made for it to be wrapped up for the most part in the next new episode, mostly because A) NCIS: New Orleans is largely a procedural show and B) do you really think that Pride would let this go for longer than an episode? It’s hard for the show to move forward with other cases until this gets resolved. The only way they could do it is if the trail gets cold and Pride is forced to move forward, at least for a little while. It’s still something that could be addressed in between him working on cases.

There are also some other stories that NCIS: New Orleans can focus on for Pride on the other side of this. For starters, it does still feel like there’s a lot of material to mine when it comes to the relationship with his brother. Meanwhile, you could also deliver some good story when it comes to his new position and whether or not that is something that he actually sticks with for the remainder of the season. This is the good thing about this season — while the mystery of the voice is obviously a big story, it’s not the only thing going on. Therefore, there’s a little less pressure on the writers to have to keep this going forever when they could just eventually move on and focus on some other things.
