Unfortunately, there is no new episode coming on the network tonight, with the simple reason being that we’re now in the throws of the midseason hiatus. In some ways, you can argue that the Elseworlds crossover event was the fall finale; for others, it may have been the episode before that, given that this is really the installment that is going to matter the most for people by and large.

If you recall, at the end of that particular episode it looked as though Agent Liberty was getting locked away. Will that stick? In the short-term, it certainly seems like it will. However, in the long-term that may not actually be the case given that there are plenty of ways in which this character could find his way out of trouble. (We’re still worried that Lena is going to find a way to give humans powers and, somehow, he will end up with them by the end of the season — maybe due to something via Lex.)

The main priority when Supergirl returns to the air, at least based on some of the information that is out there at present, is getting a chance to unravel the big cliffhanger when it comes to Kara and her secret identity. She refused to make it clear to everyone at the DEO who she really is and because of that, she was ultimately let go from her position. There could easily be some clashes and conflicts that come as a result of this, mostly because we have a hard time thinking that Kara will permanently walk away from the position of National City superhero … even if she doesn’t have any backup on some of her missions. There’s probably going to be an identity crisis of sorts in the early going when the series returns, but one way or another, we’ve got confident that Supergirl is going to figure things out.

As for some potential threats she will be facing down the line, we know that, in some shape or form, the Manchester Black storyline may not be done. There is, after all, at least one more character coming up on the series who has some ties to her.
