Is Madam Secretary new tonight on CBS? We’ve got some more news within this article about that, but then also what’s going to be coming up down the road.
The sad news at the moment is clearly this: There is no new episode of the show tonight, which is a bummer mostly because of the fact that there are new episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles and God Friended Me on the air. These three shows have aired in tandem for at least the majority of the season, but that is not happening tonight.
If there is one thing that probably does make this whole situation all the stranger, it is the fact that there is a new episode airing on CBS next week. Madam Secretary is one of the few major network shows that is choosing to air a new episode so close to Christmas, and what they are opting to do with it is tell a powerful / controversial story about family separation. This is a part of their 100th episode event and through it, Elizabeth is going to be involved in a policy issue that could become important to her in the event she becomes President.
There are some key differences here between what we’re going to see on this show and what we’ve seen in terms of real-life headlines. The Madam Secretary iteration of this story, for example, is going to revolve around a Governor who institutes a controversial policy that leads to Elizabeth getting involved. We’re not going to see the issue have the same role on a Presidential level, but we do think that President Dalton will more than likely weigh in at some point. It’s too hard to imagine this story happening without there being some sort of feedback coming in from the Oval Office.
On a slightly-happier note, there is also some good news coming in this episode if you are a fan of Elizabeth and Henry. After all, over the course of this episode you’re going to see the two renew their vows! That’s a romantic moment that cements their romance further, not that we really think that it was ever in any doubt in the first place. Their relationship has been one of the cornerstones of the entire series and it’s been rather wonderful to see that hold steady amidst everything eventful that has been going on in their lives (and rest assured, there have been plenty of different headlines).
What do you think about Madam Secretary being off the air tonight, and is there anything that you do want to see on the upcoming 100th episode? Be sure to share right now in the attached comments. We’ll have more news on the series as it comes out. (Photo: CBS.)
