MIA Shows: On Mindhunter season 2 and the wait for new episodes

In today’s edition of our ongoing MIA Shows article series, we’re taking a look at one of Netflix’s most-noteworthy shows in Mindhunter. Did you realize that it’s been a good fourteen or so months since season 1 premiered?

For some out there, it may actually feel as though Mindhunter has been off the air longer and for so many reasons, we understand that perfectly. This is a series that had a pretty-exceptional first season and it was addicting enough that they watched it over the course of just a few days. The show was also successful enough that there were plans in the works for a season 2 long before the first season even premiered.

So, when you consider all of this, isn’t it somewhat strange that there is still no formal news on a season 2 premiere date? Absolutely it is, but there is a major thing to remember here in that sometimes, great shows just take time and they cannot be rushed in just about any shape or form. Mindhunter, because of the real-life components in its storytelling, takes a great deal of research and planning. It also takes a substantially long period of time in order to product it and put together.

Now, we’re left to wonder just how long it is going to be for the show to premiere. Odds are, you won’t be waiting too much longer. All signs signal that the show will be coming out in 2019 and judging from the timing of the renewal, the start date of filming, and more, our feeling is that it will arrive in the first half of the year. It’s really up to Netflix in order to decide all of this, but we really don’t think that it benefits the network all that much to hold on to this series forever; they want viewers to watch it, just as they want more viewers down the line subscribing to the service.

So, rest assured, this particular MIA Show is not one that the streaming service is planning to keep from you forever. We don’t think that there’s anywhere near as much mystery here as there is with some of the other shows that are currently under Netflix’s umbrella, including one in The OA that has been under the radar and mysterious really for the better part of the past couple of years.
