Arrow season 7: Should David Ramsey ever appear as Green Lantern?

David Ramsey

While the Crisis on Infinite Earths tease at the end of the Elseworlds crossover was great, we don’t wanna forget about Green Lantern!

Near the end of the second part of the crossover, the Earth-90 version of The Flash (John Wesley Shipp) made a comment to Diggle about the location of his ring. This was a clear reference to John Stewart, who in the comics is one of the iterations of Green Lantern. There have been rumors for years about how John Diggle may secretly be Green Lantern in some shape or form; while we don’t necessarily believe those to be true, the crossover did still raise a really interesting possibility that someday, we could actually see David Ramsey take on that version of the character.

So … could it happen? We’re willing to bet so, but probably not during Arrow season 7. If Earth-90 is destroyed, for example, it’s hard to know precisely what’s going to be happening with Green Lantern there. You may need to find another version of John Diggle that is John Stewart in another world, and then have him show up in some shape or form here. It feels like the perfect thing to include somewhere within Crisis on Infinite Earths, given that this should feature much of the multiverse teaming up to face one of the biggest threats that any of them have had the opportunity to take on. This is the culmination of much of the Arrowverse to date and at the moment, it’s hard to really even fathom just how all of this will be scheduled or executed. For starters, don’t you have to find a way to throw the Legends of Tomorrow in here? Is Black Lightning now on the table? There are so many interesting things that are worth thinking about at the moment.

Of course, the biggest thing that everyone at the Arrowverse has is time — they know that they aren’t doing the next crisis until we get around to 2019 and that means that they can start writing / planning now. Because of the reveal tonight, we’re willing to take that as a certain stroke of confidence that all of the Arrowverse will be back for another season, including Arrow itself. As we’ve said, one of the big reasons why we may be getting this crossover now is because the producers are recognizing the mortality of these shows, and the fact that none of them may be around forever. This could be the time then to really push towards making something happen.
