Tuesday night, NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 10 is going to arrive on CBS and with that, buckle up for a thrill ride. This is one of the most intense episodes of the season for many reasons, especially since lives are on the line — lives that Dwayne Pride values deeply.

In the sneak peek below, you can get a small sense of the desperate state the character is in during the episode “Tick Tock.” Basically, Pride’s going to see his father Cassius and also Loretta Wade kidnapped by a mysterious person who plans to hold them hostage for a rather horrifying reason — they want Pride to follow every single one of their orders. Otherwise, the two of them will die. Scott Bakula’s character is going to have to follow the every whim of this person — he may not really want to, but at the same time, what choice does he really have? Here’s your answer: He has virtually no choice at all.
This brings us back to the sneak peek, one where Pride is pulled over by a police officer who offers to help him with whatever is going on — as a matter of fact, he insists that he helps, given that he realizes that something is wrong with Dwanye. Pride is unable to convince him to go away, and with that, he tries to warn him about what is actually going on here. Moments later, this cop is killed. This was a clear warning shot to Pride that if he doesn’t follow these orders directly and gets other people involved, he will have their blood on their hands.
In the end, all signs point to this being one of the most-painful stories of the entire season, and it certainly may be one that causes Pride to question whether or not this is really the job for him anymore (we understand that he already has a new position, but still). How is he going to be able to compartmentalize so much death that happens around him? Remember that he also lost his own life leading up to the start of the season in the first place.
Hopefully, by the end of this episode we at least get some more news on the fate of Cassius and Wade, let alone what could be coming up for Pride after the fact.
