Dancing with the Stars: Juniors finale review: Who won season 1?

DWTS Juniors

Who won the Dancing with the Stars: Juniors finale on ABC tonight? Over the course of this article, we’re going to give you all of the information that you’ll want and then some.

Entering the finale, there were four different stars all fighting to get the grand prize and the recognition that goes along with it: Sky Brown, Mackenzie Ziegler, Miles Brown, and Ariana Greenblatt. These four young stars were all very-talented, and did a good job of improving over time. Yet, at the same time Ziegler was the clear favorite entering the finale just because of her family’s dance pedigree. Entering the season, it felt as though she was a lock to win and it was rather-hard to imagine almost anyone else in that role.

Yet, at the same exact time, Ziegler winning doesn’t offer the same underdog story. If there was a reason for the judges to go in a really-different direction with the results, this was it — a chance to shake things up and potentially throw some people off of the scent a little bit.

In the end, the winner of this season was … Sky Brown! The young skateboarding athlete alongside JT Church were crowned the first-ever champions of the series by the judges, and we do think that this is a result that could be favorable to at least a number of viewers out there. Sky and JT were fairly well-liked by the audience, and they had that underdog spirit and plenty of enthusiasm.

Basically, we do think that Dancing with the Stars: Juniors was a big success because it accomplished the majority of what the series set out to do from the onset: Deliver fun, fascinating routines that also captured the imagination and changed the Dancing with the Stars game to a certain degree. It was nice to get a new iteration of the show that was a little more lighthearted, especially when you consider just how polarizing this past season of Dancing with the Stars proper is.

Also, it’s really darn hard to look at this overall season and think that there are any losers since this show was really just all about having people be more active and engaged in the dancing world and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We just have to wait and see at the moment if this ballroom competition has an opportunity to see itself back on the air in the future.
