Madam Secretary season 5 episode 10 return date: The 100th episode!
The bad news that we have to report on here at present is that, alas, there is no new installment coming to the network in just seven days’ time. However, the good news is that tonight’s installment is not the final episode that you’re going to have a chance to see this year. It’s not often that you have a chance to see a new episode of a network show air on December 23 (after all, it’s so close to Christmas), but that is precisely what this show is doing with “Family Separation: Part 1.” It’s a part of the series’ 100th episode event, and it may also be one of the most controversial episodes that the show has done to date.
Below, CarterMatt does offer the official Madam Secretary season 5 episode 10 synopsis with some additional information when it comes to what’s ahead:
“Family Separation: Part 1” and “Family Separation: Part 2” — Elizabeth goes head to head with a U.S. governor over the state’s new policy of separating unauthorized immigrants from their children. Also, she and Henry plan to renew their wedding vows, in a special two-part episode of MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Dec. 23 and Sunday, Jan. 6.
It’s fairly clear as to why Madam Secretary would choose to tell this particular story at this point in time: There have been countless headlines about family separations at the border over the past several months, and it is something that has outraged many people in the country. This is not the first series to really put the focus on this subject, but it is still a rather-bold move given the fact that this is a show that may have viewers with a wide range of political beliefs. Yet, we think that the writing and producing here is going to be unflinching in much of the same way Elizabeth McCord often is. She is often not afraid to stand up for some of her beliefs and we have a rather-hard time thinking that Madam Secretary will operate differently here. They understand that this is delicate subject matter but, nonetheless, they will try their best to deliver the most positive story possible.
This synopsis also goes ahead and indicates to you what the remainder of the schedule for the series is going to be. There is no new episode coming on December 30, but on the other side of that in January 6 you will see the CBS series wrap this story up and also prepare for the future.
