The Legacies fall finale is going to be coming up on Thursday night, and judging from the preview below, this one is going to be super creepy for Hope.

So what’s at the center of this story? Well, it feels as though we’re leading out of the end of this past episode with the arrival of the Necromancer. There is a massive amount of creepiness present here as Danielle Rose Russell’s character will find herself transmitted into the mind of a monster and, in the process of that, forced to confront a varying degree of fear.
What we do wonder coming into this sort of episode is rather simple: Are we going to have a chance somewhere in here to see and understand a little bit more of how Hope is coping with so much of her past? To date, Legacies has done a good job of moving forward from The Originals, which was probably a critical thing for it to do for many reasons. For starters, this show needs to be its own thing. Also, there are probably many viewers for it that aren’t altogether familiar with The Originals and everything that happened there. It wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense for them to suddenly bring up a lot of subject matter that some viewers may not know about, and creatively you don’t want to live too much in the past.
Yet, this episode could present a prime opportunity for the writers to both tell a story that is set in the present while also paying homage to the past in a way that old and new fans can properly understand. Hopefully, this episode also does a good job of establishing what the larger narrative for this season is supposed to be. We know that Landon Kirby is involved, and the same goes for the knife. Yet, there are still some motivations and other surprises that do need to still be unearthed. You can argue that the series is mostly about the characters and the Big Bad at the center of it doesn’t matter as much, and we wouldn’t even argue with you. Yet, the villain is still important given that they have a role to play in the way that the dust settles.
