Take, for example, on iTunes. While these aren’t a main measurement for votes anymore, the fact that Chris Kroeze and David Fenley were near the bottom suggested that they could be in danger; yet, they are also members of Team Blake, who has a tendency to dominate on this show in the past. Meanwhile, you’ve also got someone like Reagan Strange near the bottom of iTunes who has a tendency to fare really well in internet streams.
The first four artists to be declared safe are hardly a surprise — Kirk Jay, Chevel Shepherd, Kennedy Holmes, and MaKenzie Thomas. All four of them fared well on iTunes and have a devoted following all over the country. Following that, both Chris and Sarah Grace also moved on to the next round!
The three artists in need of the Save…
Tonight, DeAndre Nico, Reagan Strange, and Dave Fenley were all in danger. Yet, after this something truly unusual happened as Reagan did not end up actually performing due to illness. Yet, she was still up for the #VoiceSave and got it!
This is probably going to go down as the most-controversial moment of the entire season. Heck, this may be one of the more controversial moments of the entire series overall given that we’re talking here about someone moving forward without having to fulfill the same opportunities of every single person who’s been in need of the Save.
The people we feel for the most at the moment are DeAndre and Dave given the fact that they did everything that they could in order to stick around and are now forced to go home because of an issue, a circumstance, that was totally out of their control. We do wonder if there will be rule changes and more down the line … but this is what it is for now. Sometimes, the music business just works in weird ways … and so does this show.
