Chicago Med season 4 episode 9 sneak peek: An emergency delivery

In the sneak peek that we have for you below, it looks as though there could be something that keeps Ethan and April from being able to attend Will and Natalie’s big day, and understandably so — an emergency delivery back at the hospital. This is the problem with this sort of job, as there are only so many times in which you can’t get away from the hospital. If this was a wedding featuring someone other than another doctor, maybe this wouldn’t be a big deal. Yet, when both the bride and groom are doctors, that means that the rest of the hospital is somewhat short-staffed without even thinking about some of the other doctors who are going to want the day off. Ethan and April may have to stay behind to handle this delivery, mostly because there may not be anyone else available who can do the job.
At first, it’s clear that the two didn’t even think that this delivery would be an emergency … but it was pretty clear not too long after this that things were going to escalate and they would need to be there for however long it takes. If they are MIA from the wedding (if that wedding even happens), we don’t exactly think that Will or Natalie will be angry. They understand the job.
Where are things with Ethan and April romantically?
At the moment, we cannot say there’s all that much happening here … mostly because of the fact that Ethan is seemingly bringing Vicky Glass to the wedding. The two have reconnected and with their history, it feels fair to say that they could be spending some time together as we move forward this season.
With that being said, don’t expect Ethan or April to drift too far in one another’s minds. They have history and it’s clear that there are some feelings there. The reasons for their split are not the sort of thing that will prohibit them from being together in the future. They just have to find the means to get back together and some mechanisms to better communicate, both on the job and also away from it.
