Should a Shadowhunters season 3 trailer come out this month?

Today is December 1, and we’re officially under three months away from the premiere of Shadowhunters season 3 episode 11 on Freeform. No doubt, it’s been a heck of a long wait, and we are certainly all sorts of eager to finally learn how the series is going to present some key events that we’ve been hearing about for a good while now.

The biggest argument to make towards us getting a new Shadowhunters trailer is strictly timing — typically, cable series get a new trailer a couple of months before they return. Not only that, but what better time to do so than the holiday season? This is a quieter month in TV news and with that in mind we do think that there’s a chance that the trailer could stick around in the headlines a little bit longer than if it were to launch at a different time of the year.

Plus, releasing a new trailer now could offer up some rather-nice encouragement for new Shadowhunters fans out there to get on board and start watching the show during the break. While we know that there are a lot of episodes to get through for people who haven’t watched any of the show just yet, they could start at Christmas and go right through to February and be done watching only one episode a day. It’s not that much of a challenge to pull off, and we certainly think that this series is worth everyone’s time. It’s action-packed and engrossing, but beyond that also inspiring and a breath of fresh air for many people out there who watch something different out of their supernatural TV.

Of course, we should also clarify here that by “trailer,” we’re hoping for something longer than just a 30-second promo. We’re hoping to get something a little bit meatier and substantial that offers up a lot of interesting content from top to bottom. We want some teases on Malec, Clace, new threats, action, special effects, and a few surprises that very few viewers will see coming. We want something that is representative of the full Shadowhunters experience and not just something that feels like a tiny slice of everything that the show has to offer as a whole.

Rest assured that if Freeform does release a trailer for the remainder of Shadowhunters, we will be here with some more analysis!
