The X Factor UK final results preview: Who will win the title?

On paper, we do think that the end result of this season feels fairly predictable. It’s rather hard in some ways to predict a scenario in which Dalton Harris does not win, but we hesitate to say that his victory is a lock. It’s basically the times in which you say something like this that lead to all of the paranoia that this person will not win and you are setting the stage for a bona-fide disaster after the fact. We do think that if voting goes as it should, he’s got this in the bag, but there are also some ways in which we think that things could go a little bit awry.
Take, for example, a possibly vote-split among fans of Louis Tomlinson who want to give both of his acts a lot of votes. If this happens, then maybe you see someone like Scarlett Lee (who is enormously talented and we’ve seen that on the show many times over now) end up actually taking home the title. Remember, we have seen an artist in the bottom find a way to rally back and win before — James Arthur is a great example of that, and we’re not ruling her out because of that.
Then, with Anthony Russell there are two things that make him a serious contender. First, he’s from Liverpool, and contestants from that city have, for whatever reason, done enormously well on the show over the years. Then, beyond just that you’ve also got the fact that he’s similar to a lot of other winners from the past. There is clearly something about him that appeals to a lot of fans who are out there and with that in mind, we do have to think that he is a really good contender at the end of the day.
As we start to look forward to tomorrow, our desired endgame for this season is that Dalton wins, Scarlett gets second place, and Anthony gets third. Yet, we wouldn’t be shocked if Anthony and Scarlett end up swapping places and he gives Dalton a serious run for his money.
