Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10 offers up window into Prentiss’ past

Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10

There’s something rather special about Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10, at least based on the news we’ve got at the moment. After all, this episode gives you a small peak into Prentiss’ past! It’s related in some way to the case of the week, but to go along with this, you’re also going to have a chance to see something fun for her in the present. Emily may have a serious job, but that doesn’t keep her from being able to have a little bit of fun, as well.

So what exactly will this story contain when it comes to Prentiss and her story? For more on that, check out the official Criminal Minds season 14 episode 10 synopsis:

“Flesh and Blood” – Prentiss faces her past when the BAU is sent to investigate the murders of prominent businessmen, all of whom are missing their hearts. Also, Prentiss plans a romantic first date with Mendoza (guest star Stephen Bishop), but the evening is cut short by an urgent call from Rossi, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Dec. 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

As this episode moves along, we are looking forward to getting some sort of window into Prentiss’ soul and realizing further precisely A) who she is and also B) what makes her tick. She’s a fascinating enough character to more than anchor a full episode, especially since we’ve got a chance to see how she handles having to cut short her time with Mendoza. Can she find some other sort of way to make it up to him?

Also, you do have to wonder what is the precise nature of this “urgent call” from Rossi — does it have to do with the case of the week, or is there some other primary reason for it?

There is one more thing that we do certainly expect at the moment when it comes to this episode: For it to be the final one of 2018. The week after this one airs will be the Survivor: David vs. Goliath finale, and with it being a three-hour affair there’s not going to be any room for anything else. Unless Criminal Minds suddenly wants to start airing episodes right after the holidays (which seems to be unlikely), we don’t really know what else that they can do beyond wait until 2019. Even if there are only a small handful of episodes to go (there are only 15 this season), here’s to hoping the cast and crew make the most of them.
