Criminal Minds season 14 episode 9 return date: The ‘Broken Wing’ story

The biggest thing to know about “Broken Wing,” other than that it airs in two weeks’ time on December 5, is that we’re talking here about an installment directed by none other than Aisha Tyler! She’s shown off her directing talents before, but this is an interesting chance for her to take on an episode that she’s also got a big role in. After all, we’re going to have a chance to learn a little bit about Lewis’ past courtesy of a professor. This professor does come bearing some really important news all about some shocking patient deaths, and (of course) it is going to be up to the fine folks over at the BAU to get answers by however means necessarily.
Below, CarterMatt has the Criminal Minds season 14 episode 9 synopsis for what is coming up next:
“Broken Wing” – A professor from Lewis’ past tips off the BAU to an alarming number of overdose deaths of patients who just completed rehab, on CRIMINAL MINDS, Wednesday, Dec. 5 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Series star Aisha Tyler directed the episode.
So why are we waiting for two weeks in order to get this episode? Well, one of the simplest reasons for this may just be the simple fact that CBS doesn’t want to burn through all of their Criminal Minds episodes right away. There are only fifteen seemingly set for this season at the moment, and the network wants to, more than likely, at least have some more of them until at least late January, if not through the end of February sweeps. Through those episodes, we’re going to have an opportunity to see some more personal stories, and then also the directorial debut of a different cast member in AJ Cook. We’re absolutely excited to see what she brings to the table, and also what the season finale could look like … especially since it’s not altogether clear at the moment if it is being written as a possible series finale.
