This Is Us season 3 episode 9 spoilers: Be prepared for big ending

As we inch closer to This Is Us season 3 episode 9 on NBC Tuesday night, be prepared to bust out handkerchiefs and so much more. After all, we’re gearing up for the most emotional episodes of the season and one that could be jam-packed with all sorts of answers. This is the last episode of the year before January and the writers are almost certain to roll off one big surprise after the next. They gotta give you some good reason to come back and watch again, right?

For now, let’s go ahead and share some of what happens in the closing minutes, at least according to executive producer Isaac Aptaker. Here’s what some of what he had to say via Entertainment Weekly:

“I don’t want to overpromise, but I will … I would say the last ten minutes of this episode are packed with about as much as ‘Oh! Whoa! Holy s—!” excitement and This Is Us moments as we’ve ever had. It is so dense. So, if you’re going to tune in late, do not tune out early because it is one thing after the next. I think people will be very anxious for this show to get back after the holidays.”

So what could there be some big reveals about? At the moment, there are a number of super-huge threads that are still left over in between the Solomon Brown – Randall Pearson election, Kevin’s time in Vietnam, what happened to Jack and Nicky in Vietnam, and then also Kate’s pregnancy + what is coming up next for her. We also do know that there could be some big stories coming for Miguel and Beth in the new year, given that they are two of the biggest series regulars to not have that at the moment.

This Is Us has not been officially renewed as of yet for a fourth season but, for the time being, that does feel somewhat like a formality. There’s virtually zero reason for NBC to end this show now; we don’t think that it necessarily has some super-long life in that it will last for another seven or eight years. Instead, it’s probably just going to be around however long the producers want it to be.
