Shark Tank preview: LockStraps, BottleKeeper, VADE Nutrition, and Nui

There is a new episode of Shark Tank coming up this weekend on ABC, and the products that are featured this time around include LockStraps, BottleKeeper, VADE Nutrition, and Nui. It shouldn’t come as much of a shock that Alex Rodriguez is one of the Sharks this time, given that two of the four products mentioned here are health-related in nature.

As per usual with these previews, let’s start by giving you this episode’s full synopsis before checking out some of the products:

First into the Tank is a husband and wife team from Williamston, Michigan, who pitch their dissolvable protein pack product; an entrepreneur from Temecula, California, presents his dual-purpose strap design to keep valuables safe and secure; cousins from El Segundo, California, believe they have the ultimate solution to keeping a beer bottle cold with their neoprene-lined, stainless steel design; entrepreneurs from Anaheim, California, present their healthy alternative treat to sweets that capitalizes on the ketogenic diet trend.

BottleKeeper – It’s a smart way to keep your beer cold no matter what you’re doing, mostly because it’s a way to basically insulate your entire bottle! Given how much cold beer is pushed as a market must-have in commercials, it makes some sense for there to be some innovations in this space. What we wonder is mostly if consumers will be willing to spend over $30 on this, even if it does have a build-in bottle opener.

Nui – These are low-sugar, low-carb cookies that tend to work well for people on the keto diet. This is catering to that specialty food market of people who want to have a treat without having to fall off the wagon in the product. The results for these products over the years have been mixed, and to us it really comes down to one thing: Whether or not this actually tastes anywhere near as good as the non-diet version.

LockStraps – If you are on the road, this can be a great replacement for a padlock or some other ways to keep your stuff safe. they are lightweight, and yet strong and useful for storing valuables or just tying things down. The big point of emphasis here could really just be figuring out a way to ensure that this looks and stands out versus just about everything else that is out on the market these days.

VADE Nutrition – We’ve certainly seen many a protein product on Shark Tank in the past, but what makes this one different? Well, it’s a way to bring some protein powder with you on the go, as each “scoop” is packed within a film that dissolves when you put it in liquid. This is a way in which to make it easy for people to make their protein shakes on the go without having to carry around heavy tubs. It’s a smart idea, but the trick here will be converting people who already have a system that may work for you.
