The promo below certainly gives you a solid impression that “What the Puck” could be one of the funnier episodes of the season, at least in terms of what it’s bringing to the table from a comedy standpoint. You’ve got Cole and Murtaugh chasing after a hitman, someone who at first, Cole doesn’t take to seriously because of his rather-silly name. Consider this yet another reminder that a name does not make the man, though, as this said hitman turns out to be so much more of a threat than either person could have predicted. We’re going to see things descend into chaos, and eventually Cole will find himself at the center of a high-speed chase … one that ends up making him into a bit of a TV star (even if it’s just for a few seconds).
All in all, this promo makes it look like there are many a fun moment coming up in this episode, though there are also some more serious questions that need to be addressed. Take, for example, the status of Cole’s relationship with Natalie. At the start of this season, it wasn’t clear that things between the two of them could be repaired at all. Yet, Cole’s trying to be more in her and Maya’s life and at the end of this past episode, there was a kiss that could change everything. The problem is that the timing isn’t exactly great, given the fact that Natalie has actually tried to move forward and is happy in her personal life in a way that she hasn’t been before.
So what does Natalie do — stay with someone who feels like a safer choice, or try to make something work with Cole despite the somewhat-checkered history the two have? It’s something that she has to think about, and we’re not entirely sure that Cole has done enough at the moment to fully earn her trust again. This is something that is rarely ever figured out in a short period of time. Patience, and effort, are going to be the keys to his future.
