Is SWAT new tonight on CBS? Early season 2 episode 9 scoop

SWAT episode 2

Is SWAT new tonight on CBS? We certainly do think it would be nice to wrap up Thanksgiving with seeing Hondo and the rest of the team in action.

Unfortunately, that’s not something we’re going to be getting tonight! Because it’s a major holiday, it makes some sense for CBS to try and take the day off. Rest assured that there are some more new episodes coming featuring Shemar Moore and the rest of the cast, but the next one isn’t formally arriving until next week. This one carries with it the title of “Day Off,” and on paper, it seems like it’s going to be rather compelling. It’s basically a chance to see how some of the SWAT team spends their day off — or at least tries to before things get crazy. Given that this is a show predicated a lot on action and the team rushing in to save the day, did you really think that we’d have an entire episode of everyone just sitting around and chilling? That’s just not the sort of stuff that this show likes to do. They want to keep things high-octane and intense, and that is precisely what this episode will be bringing you.

Below, CarterMatt has the full SWAT season 2 episode 9 synopsis with some more news when it comes to what lies ahead:

“Day Off” – When the SWAT team is called in to work on their day off to end a hostage situation, they discover one of the captives is a wanted felon. Also, when Hondo saves his sister, Brianna (Gabrielle Dennis), after she’s been roofied at a nightclub, he uses his day off to hunt a serial rapist, on S.W.A.T., Thursday, Nov. 29 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode will clearly be personal for Hondo — we’ve seen him take on many a mission throughout the past season and a half, but it’s pretty clear that this one is going to be just a little bit different. The action and the drama will be ratcheted up a notch.

How is SWAT doing in the ratings?

At the moment, we’d say that the show does still have a reasonably large amount of work to still do in order to ensure that it gets picked up for a third season. It’s averaging just over a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and that means that it’s very much on the bubble. It’s going to need either more viewers or a little bit more awareness in the event that it wants to make it back on the air for another season. We’ll have to wait and see what happens there.
