NCIS season 16 episode 10 spoilers: First look at Christmas Special!

The title for this upcoming episode is “What Child Is This,” which is of course a reference to the classic Christmas carol. At the same time, though, it actually is going to be tied to the case itself. You can see a picture all about the subject above, and below the NCIS season 16 episode 10 synopsis offers some more information as to what’s coming up:
“What Child Is This?” – The team’s holiday plans are put on hold when the murder investigation of a Navy veteran includes the discovery of a newborn baby who has no identification and no apparent ties to a family, on NCIS, Tuesday, Dec. 11 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Basically, this case is going to be twofold. One part of this story is going to be about trying to figure out what happened to the Navy veteran; beyond that, though, we imagine that the team is going to do what they can in order to find some family for this baby. Given that this is Christmas, we do have a feeling that there will be some happy news at some point over the course of the hour. Why would NCIS leave us off on a super-depressing note?
Now that we have spelled all of that out, we do certainly think that this baby is going to be in good hands however long they are around the NCIS team. Just remember that McGee has spent the better part of the past year or so becoming adjusted to being a dad. If anyone is going to be able to handle the responsibility of having a little one around, it’s going to be him — at least for the duration of the case. We imagine that there will be some of the trademark NCIS mystery and humor throughout the season, but also something sweet and sentimental. Isn’t that what this season is all about/ It’s nice to have these holiday specials sometimes to reinforce the feeling of family and being close to the people you love precisely when you are thinking about them the most.
Of course, the one sad thing about this episode airing is that following December 11, more than likely we’re going to see NCIS off of the air for the remainder of the year. CBS doesn’t really call episodes fall / winter finales, but this is probably what this is.
