Shadowhunters season 3: New countdown poster keeps the hype going

If you look below, you can see a new poster via Freeform that serves as a pretty-clear reminder of just how much time is left until we finally get around to the long-awaited premiere. While it would be absolutely wonderful if Freeform suddenly reversed course and put some of these episodes out there sooner, it certainly doesn’t seem likely. They’ve held firm on their 2019 launch for months now and we don’t foresee that changing.
So with that in mind, we really have to hope that Freeform at least does its part to get the show out there to either casual viewers (those who check it out and don’t talk about it much online) or people who don’t know all that much about it. All of the wins at the PCAs are a nice feather in the show’s cap, but of course winning these awards by no means guarantees that there is going to be any more of the series coming up down the line. The biggest thing that can help it is stronger ratings.
Unfortunately, Freeform may not have all that much of an incentive to push a show hard that they’ve already canceled … but they really should consider it. After all, if you’ve decided that you’re not going to continue the show yourselves, wouldn’t it be nice for you to at least push it so that it could eventually find a home elsewhere? It may be somewhat of an ideal, but it’s absolutely still a nice thing to think about.
Hopefully, we’re going to have some more news on the series before long, including some sort of trailer and a few more promos. At the moment, our expectation is that there should be a trailer before the arrival of the holidays — if not by then, early next year feels like a safe bet. There’s certainly enough footage out there to make something like this happen, given that the first ten episodes of season 3B have been filmed for a good while now. (It’s even been a little while since the two-part finale wrapped, as well.)
Rest assured, one where or another there will be some cool Shadowhunters stuff leading up to the premiere.
