This Is Us season 3 spoilers: Thanksgiving episode will deliver big twist

Speaking in a new interview about this particular episode to TVLine, series star Chrissy Metz (who plays Kate) noted that through this story, “we’re gonna learn something very, very important about one particular character we had no idea about.” As for what this twist could be, or who it could be tied to, really it could be about any of the characters in the photo above, but given that it’s Thanksgiving, there are some other possible candidates here, as well. Think along the lines of Randall’s kids, Miguel, or Kevin’s new love interest Zoe. Given that we’re talking about a possible secret, or at least a piece of pertinent info, it’s probably fair to rule out Randall’s kids. Meanwhile, given that the Pearson family has the main point of view on the series, why wait to reveal a secret there? We’re banking more on the likes of Toby, Beth, Zoe, or Miguel — one of the significant others.
Could the secret be about Jack, or maybe Nicky? That’s possible, mostly because Jack himself is so closed-off that there could be some hidden secret out there about either him or his late brother. We do know that there are still some buried secrets about their time in Vietnam, most notably the mystery woman and the necklace. There could be something within their shared experience there that is still pertinent today — such as if Nicky had a secret kid over there or there is some emotional thread that Kevin can pick up there in the present.
Regardless of whatever the big reveal is, at least this is some added fuel so that we can continue to enjoy This Is Us moving forward into next week! Since it feels like Thanksgiving is one of the most important times of the year for family, it does feel appropriate that this is the time in which This Is Us is interested in unlocking one of its characters’ greatest secrets. Time will tell if this is something that only impacts them, or has a larger influence on everyone in the cast.
